Out Pondered the Hare

"I've been thinking about suicide since Heather . . ." I loved this poem—everything about it was enthralling and kept me wanting to read more by this poet. Yes, some of them are dark, but I love dark, and I seem to come away from every piece with something that feels new and lighter. I think there is a fleeting sense of redemption in the dark, which I've found sprinkled throughout this raw poetry collection. If you like real poetry that makes you think—as I do—I highly recommend.

Poetry is so subjective, and so very hard to write a review for a poetry book.

That said I will have a good go at it.

I found this book to be very dark in places and cynical too, the reading to not make me happy in many ways but that's not to say that I didn't enjoy it. I would say the musings are complex and the author is reminiscing about times that mean many things to them.

The thoughts are engaging and reflective and for mew that was very nice, perhaps some will find the work a little of a one-sided perspective and s sometimes in the past I have these opinions about similar work but that was different.

All in all a book that some will like and I'm sure others won't but for me, it was a very good read that I thought about for quite some time afterwards.

Just when we think that the Beat generation has died, it is revived. Raw poetry that describes the grappling emotions of a poet with provocative words and random thoughts. Some is hard to follow. Others are ramblings of the mind. A few story lines sparkled the poetry. Not for everyone. But, if the Beatnik phase passed you by, you can catch up with this group of candid, tense and emotionally laden poetry.
